After completing a degree in Psychology I worked in business and marketing before training as a Counselling Psychologist. For the past 15 years I have worked in mental health, within NHS, private and university settings.
I am an experienced psychotherapist and supervisor and also offer reflective practice for professionals working in mental health, university or medical contexts.
I work integratively, using evidence-based approaches and techniques from Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), psychodynamic psychotherapy and humanistic/person-centred therapy.
My goal is to help you gain insight into your own psychology, and to feel more in control of your emotions and thoughts. However, sometimes we will be working together to help you learn to tolerate and accept what you cannot control - this is key to our mental wellbeing.
I have experience of working with a range of difficulties, issues and conditions. However, I am particularly interested in supporting my clients with the following:
As a trained bereavement counsellor, I can also support your grief journey.
After a first assessment session, where I will ask you a lot of questions, we will both get a sense of whether we are a good fit and then arrange to meet ongoing. Generally I will suggest we meet weekly but sessions every two weeks may be more convenient for you, depending on your needs and availability.
I can meet you in person at my spacious and calming room in central London on Thursday afternoons/evening and can meet with you online all day Tuesday and Wednesday and Thursday mornings
I will regularly check in with you to see if the sessions are meeting your needs and am happy to feedback on both progress and any possible barriers to progress.
